« Gabriele Tinti è un attore completamente dimenticato, eppure in poco più di quarant’anni di attività ha preso parte a più di 140 film, recitando accanto ai più noti attori italiani, diretto da registi importanti di fama internazionale.
Protagonista di diverse pellicole francesi, richiesto oltreoceano dal cinema americano per film di respiro internazionale come “Il volo della Fenice” – diretto da Robert Aldrich (che lo volle in diversi suoi film) -, Tinti ha attraversato la storia del nostro cinema, frequentando i generi più diversi (dal musicarello al western, dall’horror al cinema erotico), alternando a film minori e b-movie pellicole importanti di registi come Vancini, De Sica, Lelouch, Bava e Lizzani – che lo lanciò giovanissimo nel film “Cronache di poveri amanti” accanto a Marcello Mastroianni.
A 25 anni dalla sua scomparsa, il regista bolognese Riccardo Marchesini ripercorre, in un documentario di 50 minuti, le tappe della carriera dell’attore, partendo dalla minuscola Guarda, frazione di Molinella nella bassa bolognese, che diede i natali a Tinti, dove i suoi concittadini seguirono con attenzione costante l’ascesa cinematografica di quel giovane avventuroso.
Il film di Marchesini prende l’avvio da una leggendaria apparizione dell’attore a bordo di una spider, su cui dicono attraversò la campagna bolognese in compagnia di Anna Magnani – fresca di Oscar, di cui l’attore fu amante prima di essere scaricato per Anthony Franciosa.
Il film sarà presentato in anteprima nazionale, Venerdì 18 Marzo, alle ore 21.15, al Teatro Auditorium di Molinella (Bologna).
La vita di Tinti assomiglia ad un film. E’ la vicenda di un ragazzo di umili origini che lascia il paese per Roma divenendo un professionista del cinema italiano e non solo, senza tuttavia riuscire mai ad affermarsi completamente. La sua è una vicenda avventurosa, ricca di colpi di scena ed incontri.
Il documentario, realizzato da Giostra film, oltre a raccogliere le testimonianze di amici, parenti, storici e colleghi, contiene una delle pochissime interviste rilasciate dalla moglie dell’attore, Laura Gemser, protagonista della serie erotica “Emanuele nera” – a cui partecipò anche lo stesso Tinti – e una testimonianza del critico cinematografico Davide Pulici che ha ripercorso la carriera dell’attore nelle pagine della rivista “Nocturno cinema”.

Handsome, charming, and versatile actor Ray Lovelock was born on June 19, 1950 in Rome, Italy to an Italian mother and English father. Lovelock's father was an allied British soldier who in 1944 liberated Italy from a fascist regime. Ray's father met and eventually married his mother while stationed in Italy. Lovelock was the third of four sons and the only artist of the quartet. Ray first became interested in acting while attending college as a teenager. He began as an extra in both movies and TV commercials to make extra money. An acting agent discovered Ray performing in the Roman nightclub the Piper in a rock band with longtime friend and fellow thespian Tomas Milian. This lead to his first role in the spaghetti Western Se sei vivo spara (1967).
However, it was Ray's part in the hugely successful Bandits à Milan (1968) that really launched his acting career. Lovelock was fine as David, a free-spirited hippie drifter who falls under the seductive spell of three sexy witches in the eerie Les sorcières du bord du lac (1970) (besides playing the lead in this picture, Ray also sang the haunting folk theme song. Lovelock sung the title tracks for many films that he appeared in throughout the years.) He was likewise excellent as reluctant hero George in the terrific zombie horror cult classic Le massacre des morts-vivants (1974) and as Mimsy Farmer's smooth race car driver lover Edgar in the morbid giallo Frissons d'horreur (1975). Ray gave a memorably slimy performance as apathetic criminal gang leader Aldo in the brutal La settima donna (1978). Lovelock had a recurring role as surgeon Dr. Hans Rudolf on the Italian TV series "Incantesimo." His wife Gioai was also his agent. They met in 1968 and got married in 1970. Their daughter Francesca Lovelock was born in 1971 and works as an assistant director and production manager in Naples. An avid soccer lover, Ray served as the captain of an Italian actors soccer team who played soccer matches to raise money for charity. Lovelock died at age 67 on November 10, 2017.
